The Cake Hole

I didn't realize it, but I've been racking up places to have tea and they are too good to be kept a secret :) Let me begin with the first place I visited back in March called the Cake Hole. It is aptly named as a little hole in the wall in the back of Vintage Heaven off of Columbia Flower Market where you can delight yourself with classic English cakes.  Here you'll be having communal tea circa 1970 nibbling on finger sandwiches. Follow the falling petals to this charming cafe.

On Columbia Road

It felt like a breath of fresh air, it felt like spring last Sunday when I went to the flower Market on Columbia Road.  I was still bundled in my winter coat and scarf, but the sun hit my face with a warm blanket, then I smelled the market before I ever saw it.  Bring cash, see the flowers, buy your favourite, then plop down at a cafe (my choice would be the Cake Hole in the back of Vintage Heaven for it's small, but good menu with food served in mismatched floral cups and plates or outside of the market at the organic Food Hall for a roast Sunday dinner).
