Cherry Floral Ice

Cherry Floral Ice
bing cherries cut into halves
edible rose and carnation petals
filtered water
ice cube tray

The amount you will need of everything depends on the size and shape of your ice cube tray. Throw all ingredients prettily in a tray and freeze for a few hours until solid through.  Add to a pitcher of water, lemonade, or spritzer just before serving. For an additional touch of beauty and flavour add a few sprigs of thyme or a handful of fresh spearmint to bob alongside the ice. Eat the cherries as the ice dissolves and sip around the petals or eat them too. :)

My dad being the great man that he is graciously let go of my mom and loaned her to Matt and I for a week. I threw a belated Mother's Day picnic in our back garden and made these pretty ice cubes to go alongside our tea sandwiches and devilled eggs that I meant to dye pink with beetroot juice, which ended up orange instead.  Oh well! It was a lovely time in the sun and a nice change of pace from going absolutely all over London. I'm sure I'll be putting up more pictures in the next few days - weeks, but for now I'm enjoying reading a book called Madeleines in Manhattan curled up in a ball on the couch with a happy heart not feeling as homesick, but hopeful. ♥
